April 19, 2002:

Hello Everyone,

I realize it's been awhile since I've written something, and for those very few who read this, I'm sorry.

Things have been pretty nerve-racking the last month trying to nail down a ride for the rest of the season. It's amazing how when you work hard and put your heart into something, opportunities present themselves.

The one that has popped it's head up recently is the best so far and by far. Mel Hawkins and Steve Knight of Knighthawk Racing have given me the opportunity to pilot the MG 675 prototype at Sears Point in May. This is the ride I've been waiting for, an awesome car, an awesome team, and a chance for an overall podium.

Steve and Mel have shown me the support that has been unequaled so far by anyone other than my father, family, or my mazda engineers Mike Williams and Ron Roland.
That type of confidence is comforting, but also gives me the pressure to perform, which I like.

I hope to spend a few days in Florida at the kart track to make sure im in top shape before I head out there next month. It's always fun to blast around the track with Jason LaPoint, who is a maniac in a kart, and entertaining as anything to watch.

The opportunity to represent Knighthawk has me losing sleep at night, and not until I show up at Sears, strap in, and fire up that turbocharged engine will it subside.

Until then, best wishes, and I will see you at the races.

Sincerely
Chad
