9, 2002 In what seems like the offseason, because of the postponement of the Miami Florida ALMS race this month (off until October), Chad has been working for a "Job" for the rest of the season. But what we refer to as a "Job" doesnt include sitting at a desk for Chad. "I have been talking quite frequently with the gentlemen of Knighthawk Racing, Steve Knight and Mel Hawkins. We have a developed a very good relationship since our Daytona 24 hour race, and I feel I would have a lot to contribute to their organization. The fact that their MG effort is being run in conjunction with Archangel Motorsports only supports that both of those two parties want to win races. If I could become a piece of the puzzle that would be great." Chad has discussed the idea of running the Sears Point race with Knighthawk in their MG LMP 675 car but has not made the option completely confirmed. " I'll just say the option is there, and the car will be there, back from Le Mans. If this does work out, I think you will see the MG battling up front for a podium. It all depends on me to finalize some details, Mr Hawkins and Knight have done their parts to give me the opportunity, I just want to win for them. When you see what they have done with their whole package, who wouldnt want to be involved." Since the March Sebring opener Chad has been busy working on plans for the rest of the season, and also working on small projects from his small business, AutoSporTTuning. (a small automotive aftermarket tuner company) " I have been busy trying to get some small projects done at home. But really, I would love to drop everything over a phone call that would request my services to drive for the rest of the season, but hey...isn't that every young driver's dream." If Chad keeps his eye on the prize, and continues with the right company he has surrounded himself with, we think great things will come...stay tuned. |
