Chad eyes LMP 675 Class for the Rest of the 2002 Season
Since what was a mildly dissapointing weekend for Chad last month at Sears Point, the young 22 year old has been cautiously putting together the rest of his season. After making an appearance in an LMP 900 Panoz at Sebring in March, then the Knighthawk LMP675 Mg Lola last month, Chad has decided he wants to concentrate his effort on the 675 class.

"I really enjoyed the MG Lola at Sears Point with the Knighthawk outfit. I see a great potential in that environment to win races, but Sears Point was a little on the downside. We struggled a bit because of the weather, and my limited amount of time in the car. I am interested in driving for Knighthawk the rest of the season, or in select races, and they have shown interest also, but I am keeping my options open."

2002 is Chad's third season racing cars, and this season so far Chad has run three prototype races. Coming from a Star Mazda the last two years, he has show great progress.

"It's been a big adjustment for me this season. I come from a short racing background and this has been a giant step. I am still learning each time I get into the car, but each team I have worked with has shown their enthusiasm for me and great support."

With hopes of driving at Elkhart Lake, Washington DC, Laguna Seca, and Petit Le Mans, Chad has a lot on his plate but as always he remains optimistic.

"I think you will see me in a Lola MG again sometime this season, where and when I am not totally certain. I would love to win for Mel Hawkins and Steve Knight of Knighthawk, but there are other opportunities out there. I have two second place finishes with Steve and Mel (Daytona Rolex 24 hours and Sears Point) so I am determined to win with them before I would move to something else....we will have to wait and see."
