June 25th, 2002.

Chad Block will again be teaming up with the Knighthawk Racing team for the 4th and 5th rounds of the American LeMans Championship. The Lola MG 675 car will miss the 3rd round at MidOhio because of an overhaul after it's outting at the Le Mans 24 heures two weeks ago.

This will mark the third and fourth time Chad will drive with Steve Knight and Mel Hawkins after Sears Point last month and the Rolex 24 Hours this past February.

Chad had these comments:

"I am fortunate again to have this opportunity with Knighthawk in the Lola MG 675 car. I have made many more contacts in the last few months that I expected, but I will not move away from the Knighthawk organization until I provide them with some results. Sears Point was a little dissapointing in regards to how I performed, but I'm certain with the continued seat time with the Road America and Washington DC races I can perform up to their (Knighthawk's) expectations."

This will be the fourth and fifth time Chad will run in a prototype race car after running the Star Mazda Series, which is run in conjunction with ALMS series, for the 2000 and 2001 seasons.

"Sports cars are quite different than the mazda's I ran for two seasons, but I am adjusting as quick as I feel comfortable. I'm sure we will be very competitive at the two upcoming race weekends."

The Road America 500 will take place on July 7th and will be aired live on CBS Sports at 4pm Eastern.

The Cadillac Grand Prix of Washington DC will take place on July 21st at RFK stadium and will air live on NBC Sports at 1pm Eastern.

The Washington DC venue is the closest thing to a home race that Chad has run so far in his career. " I am excited to drive at the DC venue because I'm sure I will have a great hometown following from my friends and family, since we live about one and a half hours away. I just can't wait."
