Chad's Birthday Race has Icing on the Cake!!

Chad Block placed the #11 Knighthawk Racing LMP 675 Lola Mg on the class pole and 5th overall for the American Le Mans race in Trois Rivieres Canada today. The team worked hard today to make some major changed to the chassis set-up to make the car more comfortable for Chad and co-driver Steve Knight.

The session was a strange one with a black flag being issued for another LMP675 car hitting the wall at pit entrance. Chad made the most of the time he could in the car and had this to say after the session:

"The qualifying was kind of weird with the black flag, but we managed to snatch pole. I worked really dilligently today with the Knighthawk guys to get the car where Steve and I need it to drive comfortably here, and it seems we are making progress. I was held up for a few laps by two of the LMP900 cars so I think we would have done a little better, but I'll take the pole however we get it. I had hoped to get a few more laps when they cleared the track and sent us back out, but we only got one lap."

Chad qualified the car but Steve Knight will start the race to make certain he gets driver points this race since the car retired before he got behind the wheel at Washington, DC. Chad suggested the idea in thanks for being called on to drive the car this weekend.

"I want to be absolutely sure Steve gets his driver points, I felt bad after Washington DC. If we stay out of trouble we should be in it for the end, and I can't wait" - Block went on to say.

The race takes place saturday August 3rd on Speed Channel.
